About Our Church
In 2005, twenty-five people gathered in Pastor Chris' home to pray to ask the Holy Spirit for His guidance and timing. After 18 months of prayer, The Rock, a Christian Church was launched on November 5, 2006 at Judith Steele Elementary School. We have witnessed God's goodness and faithfulness as He provided for us, increasing our attendance and giving even through the devastating 2008 recession. God continues to bless us to this day.
We are a community that seeks to follow Jesus Christ in every area of our lives. We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God written by human hands, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is our authority, and we submit ourselves to its teachings. We are also devoted to the Great Commission: "To go and make disciples of all nations...teaching people to obey Christ's commands." We are passionate about multiplying generations of disciples and planting new churches. Our vision and mission is to fill our church with disciples and leaders as we prepare to plant new churches. wHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things. He exists eternally in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is absolutely worthy of our highest worship and deepest devotion.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God, the Son, incarnate in human flesh. He is truly God and truly man. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died a substitutionary death for our sins, was raised from the dead, and is today exalted to a full position of authority and power. He is Lord of all.
We believe that the Bible is the absolute trustworthy, supernaturally inspired Word of God. It is our only rule for faith and life.
We believe that the human race is sinful both by nature and choice. Because of our sin, we are rightly condemned before a holy God.
We believe that, in his great grace and love, God has made salvation possible in Jesus Christ, and offers salvation freely to all who will place their trust in Christ. Those who repent of their sins and trust in Christ enter into an eternal relationship with the living God. Faith in Christ is to be expressed in believer’s baptism.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every true believer. The Holy Spirit works to shape the believer into conformity with Christ, gifts the believer to serve Christ, and empowers the believer to share in Christ. The Christian life can only be lived in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ here on Earth and consists of true believers. It is called to continue the mission of Jesus in the world by sharing the good news of Jesus and touching people with his love.
We believe that Jesus will return again bringing God’s purpose in this world to completion. At his return, believers will experience the fullness of God’s salvation, while unbelievers will experience the fullness God’s wrath and judgement.
