Who are you and what is The Rock about?

We are "Evangelical Christians" (A fancy term for Bible believing followers of Jesus Christ). We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God written by human hands, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is our authority and we submit ourselves to its teachings. The Rock is about "Serving the public, Helping people discover Jesus, and Partnering in the Journey." This is our mission. We are called to serve our community by showing God's love in practical ways. We are compelled to help people discover Jesus for the first time as well as to help others discover Him more intimately. The journey of faith was never meant to be made alone...it is a journey that Christ calls us all to be a part of His Kingdom coming to earth.

What are unique distinctions about The Rock?

Well, Im glad you asked! We're in the process of "Redesigning the way we do church so people can discover faith." The Rock has a few uniquenesses that distinguish it from other churches. The first is our passion to pray. Most churches pray and have prayer services or meetings, and many Christians pray regularly. However, we believe that the Holy Spirit is calling us to have our people praying Face2Face daily with one another. Our desire is to have as many partners of The Rock praying daily over the phone. We believe that a church that prays together, stays together, and is on mission together. Our second uniqueness is our style of worship. At our services, we purposely design them to be interactive and engaging. We want to experience God with our five senses and we want to give our people opportunity to respond to the Holy Spirit in real ways. We also make time to interact horizontally with each other, because we value relationships. Our third uniqueness is "Reproduction." We are convinced that it was Jesus' desire for his disciples to reproduce themselves as he invested in their lives and reproduced them. Reproduction is a natural part of life. At The Rock, we want to be purposeful in spiritual reproduction. The Rock is committed to Reproducing Disciples and Leaders. We believe that a healthy vibrant church is a church that is actively reproducing new converts and discipling them to become disciples and leaders who take personal responsibility to reproduce themselves in others.

What are your long range goals?

It is our deepest desire to plant 10 more churches in 10 years reaching 10,000 people. We want to plant churches with "Reproduction" as a part of their DNA. God has given us this mandate and we are serious about it.

What is it that you believe?

This is what we believe at The Rock...it is our STATEMENT of FAITH.

We believe in one living and true God, the creator of all things. He exists eternally in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is absolutely worthy of our highest worship and deepest devotion.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God, the Son, incarnate in human flesh. He is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died for our sins, was raised from the dead, and is exalted to the highest place of authority and power. He is Lord of all.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every true believer. The Holy Spirit works to shape the believer into conformity with Christ, gifts the believer to serve Christ, and empowers the believer to share Christ. He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide.

We believe that the Bible is the absolute Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is our only authority for faith and life.

We believe that the human race is sinful both by nature and choice. Because of our sin, we are rightly condemned before a holy God.

We believe that God, in his great grace and love, has made salvation possible in Jesus Christ, and offers it freely to all who will place their trust in Christ. Those who repent of their sins and trust in Christ enter into an eternal relationship with the living God. Faith in Christ is expressed in believers baptism.

We believe that the church consists of true believers, and is the body of Christ here on earth. It is called to continue the mission of Jesus in the world by sharing the good news of Jesus and touching people with his love.

We believe that Jesus will return again bringing Gods purpose in this world to completion. At his return, believers will experience the fullness of Gods salvation, unbelievers will experience the fullness of what it means to be separated from God.

What is your strategy?

Since day one our desire was to be a different kind of church to... "Redesign the way we do church so people can discover faith." Our goal is to listen to what our culture is saying and discover its needs by observation, interaction and relationship.

We will be a church that goes beyond its walls and into the life of its community. We will do whatever it takes Biblically to reach people for Christ. Our strategy has been simple during our pre-launch period. We are to grow by reaching people through showing God's love in practical ways.

The goal of partners is to help by inviting networks of friendships to the Gathering, to pray for their friends and to get involved in the life of the church.

The goal of pre-launch is to develop momentum towards grand opening and to raise finances.

We have developed a few values for our strategy. Because of the demographic nature of our community, we have placed a high value on children. Ever since we began "Church at the park," we observed that there are many families with very young children. By narrowing our focus on children we will be able to reach kids and parents more effectively. This means that we will postpone launching a youth program or any other age specific ministries until some time after our grand opening.

As a veteran youth pastor at heart, I understand that we cannot do everything with excellence because of limitations and limited resources. This is why we have chosen to emphasize this value...convinced that it will bear "MEGA" fruit; as we are already witnessing these days.

Secondly, we have from the very beginning valued prayer. It is central to our strategy. We want partners praying "Face2Face" engaging with one another daily. We are looking for 12 more people to join this journey.

Last but not least, we value reproduction...we are a church that will reproduce disciples and leaders through small groups and mentoring. We plan to plant our first church in 3 years. Partner with us!
